Mrs. Verna C. Adams Is Claimed by Death
Funeral Services Are Held Here for Former Livingston Woman
 
     "Funeral services for Mrs. Verna Chapman Adams, 54, were held at the Methodist Church here at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, November 8.  Mrs. Adams died shortly before noon on Tuesday in the Baptist Hospital at Dallas.  She had been in poor health for the past two years, but it was not until the night before her death that she became critically ill.
    "Rev. W.B. Wadsworth, a friend of the family for many years, conducted the funeral services.  Burial was at Forest Hill Cemetery.   Pallbearers were C.F. Fain, Otto Bergman, J.E. Hill, J.W. Leggett, O. Morrison, M.S. Cayton, Louis Gerlach, and Edwin Gerlach.
  Born at Leggett
   "Mrs. Adams had many friend in Polk County, having lived here the greater part of her life.  She was born in Leggett June 28, 1879.  In 1897 she was married to V.C. Chapman.  Mr. Chapman died in 1911 and in 1913 she was married to C.R. Adams.
     "About 15 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Adams moved to Houston, later going to San Antonio and seven years ago to Dallas.  Mrs. Adams had been a member of the Presbyterian Church for 15 years.
     "She is survived by her husband, C.R. Adams; three sons, Jack Adams of Dallas and Phil and Jim Chapman of Livingston; one daughter, Mrs. Aileen D. Stovall of Palestine, one brother, W.H. Freeman of Leggett and one sister, Mrs. W.M. Lyle of Houston."
