Death Claims Mrs. Cara Bell Hughes 

          Funeral Service is Conducted At First Baptist Church
          Mrs. Cara Belle Hughes, wife of R. N. Hughes, died in a local hospital at 1 o’clock Wednesday morning.  She had been ill with pneumonia for only a few days.
          The funeral was scheduled for 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist church, Rev. W. B. Wadsworth, pastor of the church, officiating.  Burial was to be at Forest Hill Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. 
         Mrs. Hughes, who was 66 years of age, was born in South Carolina, December 31, 1869.  She came to Texas many years ago, living for a number of years in Montgomery County.  She and Mr. Hughes came to Livingston when it was quite small and their home seemed very far out in the country.  Mr. Hughes has been in poor health for some time. 
         Besides her husband, Mrs. Hughes is survived by two sons, Eddie and Pat Hughes, both of Livingston, and five daughters, Mrs. Florence Cherry of Conroe, Mrs. Maggie Lovett of Alaska, Mrs. Blanch Thomas of Marston, Mrs. Mabel Bean of Houston, and Miss Nella Jewel Hughes of Livingston.
