Note: cont'd from Franz Selinko note above: From 1877, Ignaz Selinko was owner of the business „Brüder Selinko". In 1902 we can find the company at Gonzagagasse 1. The cloth trading business in Vienna in 1869, which he grew successfully to become the dominant cloth merchant throughout the Austo Hungarian Empire. Brüeder Selinko had no successor, as Felix had worked in the business for a little while, but was not a bit interested. He was attracted by the glamour and flashy uniform of the Hussars and Ignaz eventually bought him a commission in the Hussars. The families got together and introduced Marguerite Selinko to Walter Kary. They liked each other and married in June 1905 - cont'd on note for Felix

*geni
Note: After finishing school in 1901, Felix (Military record: 4 Klassen Gymnasium, Handelsakademie, plays piano") did his 1 year military service; his father didn't buy him in, but as the Selinkos were fortunated he had to afford Felix's equipement. In 1910 Felix becomes an associate of the "Brüder Selinko" Company which was owned by his sister Marguerite and her husband Siegfried Walter Kary below. In August 1917 Felix Selinko retired from the company, as did his father Ignaz. In 1918 he converted with his wife and the two daughters to Protestantism. There is some reason to believe that Annemarie lived with her father and his parents, because Grete Selinko (later remarried Grete Birnbaum) is registered with only one daughter Liselotte

Annemarie SELINKO (aka Selinko-Kristiansen) Born: Sep 1, 1914 in Vienna, Austria. Died: Jul 28, 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark + Erling KRISTIANSEN
Married: 1938 occupation: Ambassador
of Denmark in 1977
*geni
Annemarie Selinko finished school in 1932. At the University of Vienna she was registered as a student in history only in winter term 1932/33; in 1933 she was registered as a student in the Max Reinhardts actors school. Around this period, she started her career as a journalist and writer. It seems that her father Felix lived in rather modest conditions (I recommend the lecture of Annemarie's novels!). Maybe she gave up her studies, because she had to earn money. In 1938 she married Erling Kristiansen (a student at that time) and left Austria (together with her mother Grete Birnbaum-Selinko) for Denmark. Annemarie's grandmother Ida Wolf fled to Brno, Moravia, Czech; from there she was deported to Terezín (Theresienstadt), Bohemia, Czech concentration camp where she died in 1943 *3 images above (except face close-up) provided by William (Bill) Turnbull, son of Gisela "Gisi" Rusznyak (skating Left= Annemarie & her governess, Right= Gisi), student and close friend of Annemarie, with whom she corresponded periodically, until Annemarie's passing
