In 1850, the Friedmann family opened a Textile business in Sternberg (current Šternberk) (home of Johann & Anne (nee Friedmann) Klimesch & birth place of Arthur & Rudolph Klimesch and Heidi (nee Klimesch) Rohel & her 7 children), Moravia, Czechoslovakia. From about 1863-1909, the Friedmann's lived and ran the business from the current Post Office building. In 1886, they built a new, larger Factory on Nádražní 6 street (now sídliště Nádražní), employing abt. 400 people. Leonie (nee BöhmFriedmann in Vienna owned the Factory, only signing ownership "under duress for 1 Koruna" to her son-in-law widower Johann during her WW-II escape to USA, along with relatives & her siblings, owners of Brüder Böhm English/Český hats. All of Heeg & Friedmann Textile assets were "stolen" by communists in Šternberk, the: 1) Heeg & Friedmann Factory-Home 2) large Garden 3) Field leased to a Farmer on both sides of Sitka 4) Employee building at Nádražní & U Střelnice total (64,700 m² =16 acres) worth +/- $8 million in 2021 and in Vienna, Nazis stole their Head office Home. *see also Town Šternberk (1850-1969) Friedmann-Klimesch-Rohel families.
