* Theda Womack's Notes:

10-2 Hunter Cemetery - Called Pond Cemetery by local residents because property was owned by Mrs. Amanda West Pond (1848 - 1919).

In 1950 I found this grave: HUNTER, T. M. (Thomas Mequire Hunter) 17 Feb 1818 - 22 Sept. 1902 - (Artelia his 1st wife, Ann his 2nd wife.)

Mr. Vernie G. Hawkins of Gallatin told me that buried here was his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Taylor Wallace, b. ca. 1830 - d. 17 Nov 1871 (in childbirth) when Vernie's mother, Julia, was born.

My Uncle Luther Pond, told me that the 4 graves in Northwest corner were graves of slaves belonging to his grandfather, James W. West.

Death date of Amanda Frances (West) Pond - 13 July 1919
