I R. M. Kirkwood have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to T. P. Ackerman and his heirs forever for the consideration of eighteen hundred & seventy five dollars to me paid a tract or parcel of land in the State of Tennessee Sumner County and District Number 7 containing by estimation one acre and one half acres and bounded as follows on the West by the land of C. Clendening on the South by the Gallatin & Nashville Turnpike on the East by the Road on the West bank of Drakes Creek and on the North by the land of Lee Shute being the same land conveyed to me by Harry Smith trustee of G. W. Bumpass. To have and to hold the same to the said T. P. Ackerman his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said T. P. Ackerman that I am lawfully seized of said land have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and defend the title of said land to the said T. P. Ackerman against the lawful claims of all persons this the 23rd day of December 1869. R. M. Kirkwood (R. M. K. 23rd Dec 1869 - $2.00)
