THIS PARTICULAR DEED WAS FOR HEZEKIAH BLANKENSHIP (1757-1816), WHO WAS DANIEL MCCONNELL'S FATHER IN LAW. Hezekiah Blankenship donated the property for the Haysville Cemetery located in Macon Co., TN and is, of course, buried there with his wife, Rhoda Meador Blankenship. Their daughter, Milly Blankenship McConnell (1791-1869), is buried in a private cemetery on property they farmed since 1831 called the McConnell-Riedle Cemetery, Vandalia, Fayette Co., IL.  Will of Daniel McConnell

This Indenture made this fourth Day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred & Eleven Between James Braken of the County of Sumner & State of Tennessee of the one part & Hezekiah Blankinship late of the County of Franklin & State of Virginia of the other part, Witnesseth: that for & in consideration of the sum of one Thousand six Hundred & thirty three Dollars paid by Hezekiah Blankinship, the receipt whereof I the said James Braken doth hereby acknowledge, hath granted Bargained & sold to the said Hezekiah Blankenship & by these presents do Grant bargain & sell a certain Tract or parcel of Land situate lying or being in the County of Smith in the small eastwardly branch of Long Creek Beginning in the Kentucky line at a black gum & dogwood, running thence South 85 deg. West with said line, two hundred two hundred eight four poles & ½ pole to a poplar & Beech, thence South crossing a brance at three hundred 18 & ½ poles continuing the same course in all three hundred forty eight and ½ poles to two Beeches, thence East two Hundred 82 & ½ poles to a double sower Wood, thence North Three Hundred 73 ½ poles to the Beging Containing six Hundred & forty acres be the same more or less it being a tract of Land granted to James Bracken by Grant No. 869 from the State of Tennessee to have and to hold the said Granted Land & premises together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining unto the said Hezekiah Blankinship his Heirs & assigns for ever and the said James Bracken do Warrant & forever defend the said bargained Land & premises from me my Heirs Executors & administrators & from every person or persons whatsoever claiming or laying any Just claim by from or under me my heirs Executors or Administrators or any of them unto the said Hezekiah Blankinship his Heirs & assigns forever.
