G. B. Thurmond vs. J. F. Rutledge et al - Be it remembered that this cause came and to be further heard before S. Hermans, Judge of the County Court of Sumner County, Tennessee on this 31st day of January 1870 upon the report of the Clerk of said county, which is as follows: Pursuant to a decree of the County Court of Sumner rendered at the Feb Term 1869. I offered for sale at public auction at the court house in Gallatin on Saturday March the 6th 1869, 100 acres of land lying in District No. 14 adjoining the lands of F. G. Thurmond deceased. John Lewis and Jacob Crenshaw belonging to the estate of H. D. Thurmond deceased. When G. B. Thurmond became the purchaser of the same, he having made the highest and best bid, therefore to wit five hundred dollars of this amount. I received in cash one hundred and twenty five dollars for balance vs. three hundred and seventy five dollars I took the purchaser's two notes for one hundred and eighty seven dollars fifty cents each due in twelve and twenty months from date of sale with W. E. Harris security. Respectively submitted this 14th of June 1869 Lee W. Alley, Clerk which report being unaccepted to is in all things confirmed by the Court and it appearing that the purchaser G. B. Thurmond prefers to pay the purchase money and take up his two notes and it appearing that he has paid the enter purchase money for the land mentioned in the pleadings. It is therefore ordered all judged and decreed by the court that all the right title and trust and claim of the defendants to the tract of land mentioned in the pleadings and described as follows: to wit lying and situated in the County of Sumner Civil District No. 14 and bounded on the North by the lands of F. G.. Thurmond deceased, on the South by the lands of John Lewis, on the West by the lands of F. G. Thurmond deceased, and on the East by the lands of Jacob Crenshaw. Containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less, the same upon which H. D Thurmond lived and died be divested out of  the defendant's heirs at law of H. D. Thurmond deceased and vested in the purchaser G. B. Thurmond, his heirs, and assigns forever. It is further ordered by the court that a copy of this decree be certified to the purchaser G. B. Thurmond for registration, he paying the cost of said copy

State of Tennessee, Sumner County - I Jesse Cage, Clerk of the County Court of said county, certify that the foregoing is a full true and perfect copy of the records of this office and witness my hand and seal at office this 31st January 1870. Jesse Cage, D. C.
