For and in consideration of fifty five dollars in hand paid by George W. Copass I, John Welch of Monroe County Kentucky have this day given granted bargained and sold and do hereby convey to the said George W. Copass a certain tract or parcel of land lying on the waters of Line Creek bounded as follows: Beginning on a Double Chestnut on the State line thence E. 70 poles to a Popular thence N. 20 poles to two small Black Oaks thence W. 78 poles to White Oak and dogwood thence S. 20 poles to the beginning containing ten acres more or less. To have and to hold unto the said George W. Copass his heirs & etc. forever and I the said John Welch bind myself my heirs & etc. to warrant the title. In witness whereof I have here set my name this the 23rd day of January 1874.

State of Kentucky, County of Monroe - I W. S. Maxey Clerk of the Monroe County Court certify this deed from John Welch and Sarah F. Welch his wife to George W. Copass was produced to me in said County and acknowledged by the said John Welch and Sarah F. Welch before me on the 16th day of Feb. 1874 to be their act and deed. Whereupon I have duly recorded it and this certificate in said office this the 17th day of Feb 1874.
