George Dempsey To William Dempsey - for 55  & 1/2 acres of land - Deed Of Bargain 

This Indenture made this 20th of February 1838 between George Dempsey of the County of Sumner and state of Tennessee of the one part and William Dempsey of the County and state aforesaid witnessed that the said George Dempsey for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged doth bargain sell convey grant unto the said William Dempsey his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Sumner on the waters of the middle fork of Station Camp Creek beginning at a Hickory the South East corner of John Mitchell's tract he now lives on; Baker's West line running thence West one hundred and sixteen poles to a Beech; thence South fifty eight poles to a Walnut; thence South fifty degrees East forty eight poles to a Hickory; thence South fifty degrees East seventy poles to a Beech and Sugar tree on Baker's line; thence North eighty six poles with Baker's line to the beginning containing fifty five and one half acres with all the appurtenances belonging and all the right title and claim and demand of the said George Dempsey and my heirs and assigns forever to have and to hold the said fifty five and a half acres with the appurtenances unto the said William Dempsey his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claim title or demand of all and every person whatsoever. Will warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereunto I have hereinto set my hand and seal this day and date above written. George (his mark) Dempsey - Seal
