This Indenture made this 8th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and two, Between Daniel McConnell of the County of Sumner and state of Tennessee of the one part and James Graham of the said county and state of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Daniel McConnell, for and in consideration of two hundred and twenty dollars to him in hand paid, by the said James Graham, the receipt and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell unto the said James Graham a certain tract or parcel of land, lying and being in said county and state aforesaid, being part of a tract of land originally granted to William Sanders and joining the tract the said Graham now lives on. (viz) Beginning as follows, at an ash, said Grahams SouthEast corner, runs North with his line, one hundred poles to an ash, and sugartree, thence East 80 poles to a white oak, thence South one hundred poles to a locust, thence West eighty poles to the Beginning. Containing fifty acres be the same more or less, together with all and singular the appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the aforesaid bargained premises to the said James Graham, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Daniel McConnell doth covenant and agree to and ___ the said James Graham his heirs executors administrators and assigns forever himself his heirs executors and administrators, to warrant and forever defend the aforesaid granted land, and premises against the claim of all persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Daniel McConnell hath set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written.
