This Indenture, made and entered into this the 1st day of January A. D. 1881. by and between Daniel Thomas Northam and wife Sarah Ann Northam of said County and State, parties of the first part, and Alfred J. Goodman and wife Isabel Goodman of said County and State parties of the second part, Witnesseth: That said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of Five hundred Dollars, to them in hand paid by the said parties of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, and in pursuance

of the conditions of a bond for title made by said Daniel T. Northam to
said A. J. Goodman 28th day of Dec. 1878 have bargained and sold, granted
and conveyed, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain and sell, convey
and confirm unto the said parties of the second part and their heirs, the
following tract or parcel of land, situate in said County on the East prong
of Cartlidges Creek adjoining the lands of Leak and others, containing one
hundred and Third Acres more or less. And bounded as follows__Beginning at
a Rock Pile and runs South & East 32.50 chs. then South 32 West 8.50
chs to the Creek, then down the various courses of the Creek to a red oak.
Leaks corner, then North 18 East 36.30 chs to a sweet gum near the Spring,
then North 70 East 31.50 chs to the beginning, saving and excepting two ___?
acres within said boundaries heretofore conveyed to Calvin Robbins which
is not hereby conveyed or intended to be conveyed. To have and to hold the
above described land subject to the exception above named, together with
all improvements and appurtenances to the same belonging to the said parties
of the second part, their heirs and assigns forever. And the said parties
of the first part, for themselves their heirs, executors, administrators
and assigns covenant that they are lawfully seized of said lands and have
right to convey the same in fee simple, and that they will forever warrant
and defend the title to the same to the said parties of the second part,
their heirs and assigns and to their only use and behoof, against the lawful
claims of all persons whatsoever.
In Testimoney Whereof. The said parties of the first part doth hereto
set their hands and seals, the day and date first aboave written.

Personally appeared before the undersigned Justice of the Peace of said County. Daniel Thomas Northam and Sarah Ann Northam his wife, the persons described in and who signed the foregoing deed to A. J. Goodman and his wife Isabell, and acknowledged the due execution thereof by them

as their act and deed. And thereinfrom the said Sarah Ann Northam being
by the undersigned privately examined, seprate and apart from her said husband
touching her free consent in the execution thereof, doth declare on such,
her examination, that she executed the same freely and voluntar* of her won
free will and accord, and without any force, fear or undue influence of her
said husband or any other person and doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
