This Indenture made this 22nd day of September one thousand seven hundred and Ninety Seven between Thomas Donoho of the County of Caswell and State of North Carolina of the one part and Montgomery McConal of Sumner County and State of Tennessee of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Donoho for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and seventy Dollars to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof he the said Thomas Donoho doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and Sell unto the said Montgomery McConal and his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land containing by estimation one hundred twenty nine and a half acres, and twenty eight poles and the same more or less being part of a large tract granted originally to the said Thomas Donoho and bounded as follows Beginning at a Cluster of lynn trees on the west side of the west fork of Goose Creek and runs North 228 poles to a beach tree and ironwood thence East 91 poles crossing the Creek to a hornbeam then South two hundred and twenty eight poles to a Stake thence west Ninety one poles to the beginning containing one hundred and twenty nine and a half acres and twenty eight poles Together with all its appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract of land to the said Montgomery McConal his heirs and assigns and the said Thomas Donoho for himself and his heirs the said tract of land with all its appurtenances unto the said Montgomery McConal and his heirs and assigns and against the Claim of all persons whatsoever will forever Warrant and In Testimony whereof the said Thomas Donoho hath hereunto set forth his name and affixed his Seal the day and year first above written.
