State of Tennessee }
Sumner County } This indenture made and
entered into July the 12th 1848 Between Eli Northam of the County of Simpson
and State of Kentucky of the one part and Hiram N. Bradley of the County
of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the other part witmesseth that for and
in consideration of the sum of Twenty Dollars to me in hand paid the receipt
whereof is hereby acknowledged & the sd. Northam have bargained sold
and confirmed unto the sd. Bradley a certain tract or parcel of Land lying
in the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee and bounded as follows viz
Beginning on a Black oak on William Pearson line running west 34 poles to
a stake thence North 68 poles to a post oak thence East 34 poles to a Blackjack
thence S 68 poles to the Beginning containing 14 acres 1 road 34 poles more
or less the said H. N. Bradley or heirs to have and to hold the same with
all its improvements and profits forever the said Northam forever warrants
and defends sd. Land from himself his heirs and all other persons whatsoever
having any claims thereto given under my hand & seal the day and date
above mentioned.

Sumner County } Personally appeared before
me John L. Bugg Clerk of the County Court of said County George M. Northam
& William J. Pearson subscribing witnesses to the foregoing within Deed
who being first sworn Depose and say that they are personally acquainted
with Eli Northam the Bargainor and that he acknowledged the Execution of
same in their presence to be his act and Deed upon the day it bears date
and for the purpose therein contained. Witness my hand at office this
13 Oct 1853.
