State of Tennessee }
Sumner County } This Indenture made and
entered into August 1853 Between Eli Northam of the County of Simpson and
State of Kentucky of the one part and Rich'd T. Pearson of the County of
Sumner & State of Tennessee of the other part witnesseth that I Eli Northam
for & in consideration of the Sum of $200 to me paid by the said Pearson
have bargained sold and confirmed unto the said Pearson a certain tract or
parcel of land lying in the County of Sumner & State of Tennessee &
Bounded as follows viz Beginning on a Blackjack on the original line N 84
poles to a post oak thence E 148 poles to a Blalckjack thence South 84 P
to a Blackjack thence W 148 poles to the Beginning containing 77 acres more
or less with all the improvements and proffits the said Pearson or his heirs
to have and to hold same forever I the said Northam forever warrant and defend
sd. Land from myself heirs and all other persons whatsoever having any claim
or claims thereto given under my hand and seal the day & date above
mentioned.

Sumner County } Personally appeared before
me John L. Bugg Clerk of the County Court of said County George M. Northam
& William J. Pearson subscribing witnesses to the within Deed who being
first sworn depose & say that they are personally acquainted with Eli
Northam, the Bargainor and that he acknowledged the Execution of the same
in their presence to be his act and Deed upon the day it bears date and for
the purpose therein contained. Witness my hand at office the Oct.
1853.
