For and in consideration of one hundred and thirty five Dollars to me paid by Wm. Johnson I this day have bargained and sold and do convey unto the said Wm. Johnson a certain tract or parcel of land lying in Civil District No. 16 formerly 19 Sumner County Tennessee and bounded as follows  Beginning on a white oak in Groves line corner to Johnson and Groves thence N 2 1/2 degrees W 170  70/100 poles to a stake in Johnson line corner to Groves & Johnson thence E 29 poles to a Rock corner to Groves & Johnson line thence south 7 degrees W 172 poles to the beginning containing by survey (15) fifteen acres be the same more or less.  Now therefore I do covenant and bind myself my heirs and Representatives to forever warrant and defend the title of said land to the said Wm. Johnson his heirs and assigns forever against any person or persons lawfully claims that same or any part thereof.  In testimony whereof I hereby set my hand and seal on this 4 Day of November A. D. 1878.
