Deed For 95 Acres of Land 

This indenture made this fifteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & ten between Catharine Garrett of Sumner County & State of Tennessee of the one part & John Garrett of the other part & of the County & State aforesaid, witnesseth that the said Catharine Garrett for & in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to her in hand paid by the said John Garrett the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge & the said Catharine Garrett have granted bargained & sold & do by these presents, fully & firmly grant bargain, sell & deliver & make over unto John Garrett his heirs & assigns a certain tract of land situated & being on the waters of Drakes Creek in the county of Sumner & state aforesaid beginning at an ash & sugar on the above said John Garretts North corner, thence running North 89 poles to a beach, thence running East 180 poles to a hickory, thence running South 89 poles to a black gum, thence running 180 poles to the beginning it is to be understood that Job Hix sold John Pavatt five acres of this above mentioned tract of land as said Pavatts deed will show for when he conveyed said land to the above said Catharine Garrett the balance containing ninety five acres with all & singular the ways appertaining with the reversion & reversions remainder & remainders & rents & issues thereof & all rightful claim of the ninety five acres unto the said John Garrett his heirs & assigns forever & the said Catharine Garrett against myself & against every other person or persons will forever warrant & defend the above bargained premises unto the above said John Garrett his heirs & assigns forever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day & year above written. State of Tennessee, Sumner County Court March Term 1812. The within deed of bargain & sale between Catharine Garrett of the one part & John Garrett of the other part for 95 acres of land was duly proved in open court by the oaths of John McMurtry Senr. & John McMurtry, subscribing witnesses thereto & ordered to be registered.
