This indenture made and entered this eleventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty one between John Garrett & Jane Garrett his wife of the County of White and State of Illinois of the first part and Asa McMurtry of the County of White and State of Illinois of the 2nd part. Witnesseth that the said John Garrett and Jane his wife of the first part for & in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained and sold and by these presents do grant bargain sell, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever all the claim right or title that we have or expect ever to have either of heirship or other wise to the following described parcel or parcels of land or lot of ground situated lying and being in the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee precinct no. nine containing eighty acres more or less together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining. In testimony we hereunto set our hands and seals the day and year first written.

State of Tennessee, Sumner County - Personally appeared before me Andrew McGlothlin, clerk of the County Court of said Sumner County, B. R. McMurtry and T. W. McMurtry subscribing witnesses to the within deed who being sworn depose say that they are personally acquainted with John Garrett and Jane Garrett the bargainers and that they acknowledged the execution of the same in the presence to be their act and deed upon the day it bears date and for the purposes therein contained. Written of my hand at office this 11th Sept 1841. Andrew McGlothlin, Clerk
