I do hereby nominate and appoint John M. Smart my Attorney in fact for me and in my name to sell and convey to any person or persons their heirs and assigns forever who will purchase the same by general warantee deed in one or more tracts as he think best my tract of land in the state of Illinois in the county of Johnson containing by estimation forty seven acres more or less to wit lying and being in the county of Johnson and state of Illinois and known and described as follows, to wit - the north East quarter of sections eleven and seven acres off of the south east quarter of Section two designated as follows, Beginning at the South East corner of said forty acres running West eighty Rods thence north fourteen Rods thence East eighty rods thence South fourteen rods to the place of Beginning all of which is in Township fourteen South of range two East of the third principal meridian containing forty seven acres more or less and take and receive the consideration money or take notes for the same at his discretion, he may also Bring and prosecute in my name any suit that may be necessary to gain possession of or Establish my title to the same, Employ such counsil or other and as he may need at my expense and charge and I do hereby ratify and confirm any act or thing he may lawfully do in the premises as fully as if I was present and doing the same myself this Octr 3rd 1865.
