This indenture made eleventh day of March 1873 between Minerva Lucas Seth Colley Cordelia Colley George Belcher Eliza Belcher of the first part, and W. G. Colley of the same place of the second part witnesseth that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of twenty Dollars lawful money of the United States to them duly paid before the ____ hereof hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant and convey to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel of land lying and being in the County of Sumner State of Tennessee described as follows to wit Beginning on a Black Gum corner to Dickerson Austin and McKendrees heirs Running East 15 1/2 poles to a stake thence North 31 poles to a white oak thence West 15 1/2 poles to a Rock in Austins east boundary line thence south 31 poles to the Beginning we the parties of the first part do convey to the party of second part the above described land and will defend the title forever.

McGlothlin Esqr. you are hereby authorized & empowered to take the examination of Eliza Belcher privately and apart from her husband Relative to her free execution of the foregoing instrument and the same so taken to certify under your hand and seal witness my hand at office this 25th Sept. 1873.

Sumner County       }  Eliza Belcher wife of George Belcher having personally appeared before me and having by virtue of the authority in me vested been examined privately and apart from her said husband and she having acknowledged the due execution of the within deed by her freeley volunterily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint by her said husband for the purposes therein expresed the same is therefore certified witness my hand and seal 8th day of Octo 1873.

Colley the bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged the execution of the Foregoing instrument for the purposes therein contained witness my hand at office this 11th day of November 1874.
