For and in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred dollars cash to me in hand paid. The receipt of which is hereby acknowledged. I have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer & convey to Jesse T. Blakemore the following described tract or parcel of land lying and being in Civil District No. 3 Sumner County. It being the same lot or tract of land that Walter R. Chambers inherited from his father and known as lot No. 6 in the division of said estate, and the same having been assigned to the said Walter R. Chambers by the Chancery Court in the division of his Father's estate. I also transfer & convey to the said Blakemore the following lot or parcel of land to wit: 2 acres, 3 rods, & 18 poles, which was purchased by me of Miss Mary Chambers, the first named tract or parcel of land is bounded as follows: Beginning at South East corner lot No. 5; thence East sixty eight poles, 1 1/2 degrees East 20 poles, North 3 1/2 degrees East 41 1/2 poles, North 43 degrees West 20 2/10 poles, North 3/4 degrees East 64 8/10 poles North  89 1/4 degrees West 58 8/10 poles South 141 2/10 poles to the beginning containing 55 acres and 2 rods, be the same more or less. Two other or second tract or parcel of land is bounded as follows: Beginning at a planted rock West of a spring running East 23 1/2 poles to planted rock; thence South 39 poles to a rock; thence North 31 1/2 degrees West 45 3/4 poles to the beginning containing as before stated 2 acres & 18 poles. To have and to hold said tracts or parcels of land to the said Jesse T. Blakemore his heirs and assigns forever. I covenant with the said Blakemore that I am lawfully seized of said and every part thereof, and that I have a good and perfect right to convey the same and that the same is unencumbered. I further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land and every part thereof to the said Jesse T. Blakemore his heirs and representatives against the lawful claims of all persons whatever. Witness my hand this 22nd November 1884. L. W. (his mark) Lawrence, Eliza (her mark) Lawrence

State of Tennessee, Sumner County - Personally appeared before me O. H. Foster, Clerk of the County Court of said county, the within named L. W. Lawrence and wife Eliza Lawrence the bargainors, with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledged that they executed the foregoing written instrument for the purposes therein expressed. And Eliza Lawrence, wife of the said L. W. Lawrence, having personally appeared before me privately and apart from her husband, the said Eliza Lawrence acknowledged the execution of the said instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily, and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.
