This Indenture made and entered into this thirtieth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight between Dudley E. McKendree of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part and John Spradlin of the County of aforesaid witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Spradlin at or before the delivery of these presents have bargained sold conveyed and confirmed to the said Spradlin all that said tract of parcel of land and premises of one hundred and ten acres of land be the same more or less situate lying and being in the County aforesaid on the waters of the west fork of Drakes Creek of Baron River and Bounded as follows to wit. Beginning on a Black oak on the south side of the Russelville Road leading from Gallatin to Russelville thence south with Richard Copes? & Doulhite East boundary line one hundred and nineteen poles to a hickory Doulhites corner thence east twenty poles to a Red Bud thence south 42 poles to an Ellum thence west thirty poles to a water oak thence north forty two poles to a Ellum thence east with Joseph Spradlins north Boundary line ninety four poles to a stake John Madding? south west corner then with the Madding? line ninety six poles to a stake thence west one hundred and twenty eight poles to a stake in the Russelville Road then north 55 west with said road fifteen poles thence north 40 west with said road twenty poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the said one hundred and ten acres of land with woods water courses ____ minerals and appurtenances thereunto belonging. To have and to hold from him the said McKendree his heirs, and assigns and all and any other person or persons whatsoever laying any just claim or claims thereunto him the said Spradlin his heirs and assigns forever. In witness When? and to the said Dudley E. McKendree hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and year above written and in the presents of the subscribing witnesses sealed and delivered.
