I  James McKendree have this day bargained & sold & do hereby transfer & convey to Jacob Beason & his heirs forever for the consideration of one hundred dollars to me paid a tract of land in the state of Tennessee Sumner County in district No 20 containing by estimation fifty five acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows beginning at a black oak Silas Fulgums south east corner running south sixty eight poles to a stake thence west one hundred and thirty poles to a stake thence North sixty eight eight <sic> poles to a stake in Silas Fulgums south boundary line thence east to the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said Jacob Beason, his heirs & assigns forever. I do covenant with the said Jacob Beason that I am lawfully seized of said land have a good right to convey it & the same is unencumbered. I do for the Covenant and bind my self my heirs & representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land and every part thereof to the said Jacob Beason his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever this 9th day Nov. 1841.

it bears date and for the purpose there in Contained Witness my hand at Office this 8th day of Apl 1842
