Know all men by these presents. That we James Winchester and William Cage, Jr. both of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee. For and in consideration of twentyone dollars paid us by James McKnight of the same place, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, sell and convey unto the said James McKnight his heirs and assigns forever, all that lot of land situate lying and being in the Town of Cairo, and distinguished in the plan of said Town by number twenty in Oak Street, and containing fifty perches of land, which will more fully appear by reference thereunto being had. To have and to hold the said granted and bargained premises with the privileges and appurtenances thereof unto the said James McKnight his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their use and behoof forever, and further, that the streets and allies as laid out in the plan of said Town shall forever remain common highways to the citizens thereof, and we the said James Winchester and William Cage Jr. for ourselves our heirs Executors & administrators do covenant with the said James McKnight his heirs and assigns that we are lawfully seized of the premises, that they are free of all encumbrances that we have a good right to sell and convey the same to the said James McKnight his heirs and assigns forever, to hold as aforesaid and that we will warrant and defend the same unto the said James McKnight his heirs and assigns forever, against the claim and demand of all persons.
