To all to whom these presents shall come, greeting know ye, that we, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty shillings for every hundred acres hereby granted, paid unto our treasury by Samuel Harper have given and granted, and by these presents do give and grant unto the said Samuel Harper a tract of land, containing one hundred and seventy-five acres, lying and being in our County of Warren on the North side of Reedy Creek beginning at a white oak on the said creek and on the North side the Baptist Meeting House Road at the letter A thence down said road a consentable line North 25 degrees east & 60 poles thence North 20 degrees East 62 poles to a black jack in the road thence North 45 degrees East & 13 poles to a stump in Jones' old line thence by Person's line North 14 degrees West & 124 poles to a white oak thence Newell's line South 20 degrees West & 23 poles to a hickory thence his other line

North 20 degrees West  & 6 poles to a hickory on the North side of Person's road thence up the road joining Newell's North 70 degrees West 64 poles to a blackjack near the head of Great Branch thence down said branch South 10 degrees West & 135 poles to a white oak on the afore mentioned Creek thence down the windings of the Creek to the first Station, witnessed Richard Caswell, Esq.; our Governor Captain General and commander in Chief at Kingston, the twentieth day of September in the fourth year of our Independence, and in the year of our Lord  one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine.
