This indenture made between John Northam & Nancy his wife both of
the state of North Carolina & County of Richmond of the one part &
John Lampley of sd. State & County of the other part Witnesseth that
for & in consideration of the sum of One hundred & forty Dollars
to the said John Northam & Nancy his wife in hand paid, the receipt whereof
is by this acknowledged have bargained sold conveyed & delivered unto
the said John Lampley his heirs and assignes forever all that tract parcel
part in portion of Land lying & being in the County of Richmond aforesaid
in the fork of Hedgecock Creek & Pee Dee River being the entire distribution
share belonging to the said Northam & Nancy on right of said Nancy of
the landed Estate in Richmond County belonging to the Estate of Benjamin
Lampley late of said County deceased - To have and to hold unto the said
John Lampley his heirs and assignes forever, the aforementioned Land &
every part or parcel thereof free and clear from any lien hinderance or
molestation whatever & the said John Northam & his wife Nancy do
for themselves & their heirs warrant & forever defend the said Land
& premises from claim or claims of every person lawfully claiming under
them unto the said John Lampley his heirs & assignes forever.
In Witness whereof they have hereunto set their hands & seals this 19th
day of April 1825.

The signature of John Northam to the within deed was proven by Wm P. Leaks
& acknowledgement and private examination of his wife Nancy Northam was
taken before Robert Powell & John Macalister duly authorized for NSt.
Herefore - ordered to be reported.
April Term 1825
To Robert Powell & John McAlister Esq.
You are hereby authorized & directed to take the private examination
of Nancy Northam wife of John Northam separate and apart from her said husband
as to her signing & sealing a Deed of conveyance to John Lampley for
a certain tract of land with her own consent & annex the same to the
aforesaid Deed - In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 19th
day of April 1825.

In obedience to the above commission we have examined the above Nancy Northam
who says she signed & sealed a Deed from her husband John Northam to
John Lampley with her own free consent & there was no compulsion from
or by her husband on her to sign the same. for a certain tract of land
with her own consent & there was no compulsion from or by her husband
on her to sign the same. The above was acknowledged before us the 19th
of April 1825
