This Indenture made this eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight between John Perry of Sumner County and State of Tennessee of the one part and Rountree Perry of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Perry for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Rountree Perry the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the said Rountree Perry his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract, piece, or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Sumner on the waters of Madison's Creek and bounded as follows:

Beginning at a beach on John Perry's line of the tract of land he now lives on, running West with said line ninety eight poles to a beech Jesse Joyner's North East Corner; thence with said Joyner's line South one hundred and sixty nine poles to a beech in Patton's line; thence East with Patton's line ninety eight poles to a beech in Norfleet Perry's line; thence North with said line forty three poles said Norfleet Perry's North West Corner; thence East with said Norfleet Perry's fifty poles to a stake near the Branch; thence North 5 degrees East fifty nine poles to honey breast sapling, then North 80 degrees West fifty six poles to a stake, then North fifty six poles to the beginning,

Containing by estimation one hundred and thirty acres more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights profits involvements hereditaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Rountree Perry his heirs and as signs forever and the said John Perry for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators doth covenant and agree to and with the said Rountree Perry his heirs or assigns that the before recited land and bargained premises he will warrant and forever defend against the right title interest or claim of all and every person or persons whomsoever.

State of Tennessee, Sumner County Court November Term 1828 - This Deed of Bargain and Sale from John Perry to Rountree Perry for one hundred and thirty acres of land was duly proved in open court by the oaths of Norfleet Perry and Isaac Perry subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered.
