Deed - Samuel Moore to Norfleet Perry for 361 acres & 88 poles.......

This Indenture made this thirteenth day of March eight hundred and twenty two between Samuel Moore of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the one part and Norfleet Perry of said State and County of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty Three Hundred Dollars by the said Norfleet to the said Samuel in hand paid the receipt and payment whereof is hereby fully acknowledged, I, the said Samuel hath this day bargained and sold and by these presents bargain, sell, alien, convey, and confirm unto the said Norfleet a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County & State aforesaid & on Madison's Creek butted and bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at two sugar trees & a beach the South West corner of the original tract thence North two hundred and seventy six poles to a beach thence East two hundred and eight poles to a stake thence South two hundred and eighty seven poles to a stake in Jesse Joyner's line thence West with his line to the beginning containing three hundred and sixty one acres and eighty eight poles. To have and to hold to the said Norfleet his heirs & etc. with all and singular the rights and benefits thereunto belongings or in any wise appertaining and I the said Samuel do covenant and agree to and with said Norfleet for myself my heirs & etc. to warrant and forever defend the above described tract of land to the said Norfleet his heirs & etc. from myself & my heirs & etc. and all persons & manner of persons whatsoever lawfully claiming said land. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this day and date above written. Samuel Moore (Seal)

State of Tennessee, Sumner County Court May Term 1822 -  This Deed of bargain and sale between Samuel Moore of the one part & Norfleet Perry of the other part for 361 acres & 88 poles of land was proved in open court by the oaths of William Joyner and Samuel Savely subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered.
