This Indenture made this twenty first day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty nine, between Rountree Perry of Sumner County and State of Tennessee, of the one part and Norfleet Perry of the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Rountree Perry for and in consideration of the sum of fifty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Norfleet Perry  the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted sold aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant sell alien convey and confirm unto the said Norfleet Perry his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Sumner and State of Tennessee on the head waters of Madison's Creek, bounded and running as follows, Beginning at a dogwood on William Ward's East boundary line running East seventy three poles to a stake in an old field; thence North two hundred and ten poles to an ash; thence West two hundred and twenty six poles to an oak; thence South two hundred and seventy poles to a stake Ward's South West corner; thence East one hundred and thirty poles to two beeches and large white oak; thence South forty poles to the beginning. Containing by estimation two hundred and twenty nine acres more or less. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights profits envolments hereditaments and appurtances of in and to the same belonging or in any way appertaining to the only proper use benefit & behoof of him the said Norfleet Perry his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Rountree Perry for himself his heirs Executors administrators to doth covenant and agree to and with the said Norfleet Perry his heirs and assigns that the before recited land and bargained premises he will warrant and forever defend against the right title interest or claim of all and every persons whatsoever. State of Tennessee, Sumner County Court May Term, A. D., 1829 - This Deed of Bargain and Sale from Rountree Perry to Norfleet Perry for two hundred and twenty nine acres of land was duly acknowledged in open court and ordered to be registered.
