Thomas PERRY, Deed, Thomas DURHAM, State of Tennessee, Sumner County

I Thomas PERRY have this day sold and do hereby convey to Thomas DURHAM and his heirs forever for one hundred dollars, to me paid, a tract of land in Sumner County, State of Tennessee, and district containing by estimation, one hundred acres, be the same more or less and bounded as follows: Beginning on a hickory on the east of the Scottsville Road running N. 88 degrees E. 60 poles to a buckeye; thence S. 56 E. 28 poles to a black oak; thence N. 45 degrees E. 78 poles to an Ash Elm and white walnut; then N. 40 degrees W. 96 poles to two hickories and dead poplar; then West 46 poles to a small sassafras just across the road; then a southerly direction with said road to the place of beginning, to have and to hold the same to the said Thomas DURHAM, his heirs and assigns forever. I do convenant with the said Thomas DURHAM that I am lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself, my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land and every part thereof to the said Thomas DURHAM his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever this 15th day of June 1842.

MUNDAY, Clerk of the County Court of said County, Thomas PERRY, the bargainor with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he made and executed the written deed for the purpose therein contained witness my hand at office this 29 day of November 1843.

John PERRY, Deed, To Thomas PERRY

I John PERRY, do hereby convey and transfer to Thomas PERRY, a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the County of Sumner, State of Tennessee, District No. 13 on the head waters of Brushy Fork of Bledsoe Creek adjoining the lands of WEST and others bounded as follows: Beginning on a white oak running thence East 28 poles to a hickory elm and ash; thence South 18 poles to a beech; thence East 46 poles to two hickories; thence North 38 poles to an ash and beech; thence West 50 poles to a hickory and poplar; thence in a North West course 16 poles to a poplar on the head of a drean or small hollow; thence with said hollow in a West course 14 poles to an ash on the South side of a bluff; thence with said bluff in a South West course 30 poles to the beginning, containing by estimation (15) fifteen acres more or less. In consideration of the sum of twenty five dollars, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the said Thomas PERRY, to have and to hold the above named land, the title of which I will warrant and forever defend from the claims of all others this 16th day of December 1871.

Personally appeared before me Jesse CAGE, Clerk of the County Court of said County, T. M. WOODSON and T. W. DURHAM subscribing witnesses to the fore going deed, who being first sworn depose and say they are acquainted with John PERRY, the bargainer and that he acknowledged the execution of the same in their presence to be his act and deed on the day it briars date for the purposes therein contained. Witness my hand at office the 19th April 1873.
