This Indenture made and entered into this ninth day of August Eighteen Hundred and twenty eight between William Perry of the county of Sumner and state of Tennessee of the one part and Sarah Perry Daughter of the said William of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said William as well for and in consideration of the natural love & affection which he the said William has unto the said Sarah his daughter as also for the better maintenance of the said Sarah hath given granted confirmed and delivered, and by these presence do give grant confirm & deliver unto the said Sarah & her heirs forever a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county aforesaid on the waters of Madison's Creek butted & bounded as follows, Viz: Beginning where the upper Gallatin Road crosses the creek of the Long Hollow on John P. Hogan's corner running N. 36. W. thirty eight poles to a stake; thence South 51 degrees West one hundred & ten poles to a beach in N. Perry's line; thence North with said Perry's line one hundred and sixty nine poles to a beach; thence East one hundred and twenty poles to a small ash & hickory on the side of a large hill; thence South with the old line one hundred and twenty poles crossing the big road to a sugartree & beach in the Long Hollow on the side of the hill opposite Caswell Smith's house; thence S. 113. W. fourteen & a half poles to the beginning containing ninety seven acres be the same more or less to have and to hold and I the said William do hereby covenant and agree to & with the said Sally and her heirs for myself and my heirs do warrant & forever defend from myself my heirs & from all other person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming the same to her the said Sally & her heirs forever in witness whereof, I the said William have hereunto set my hand & seal this day and date first written. State of Tennessee, Sumner County Court August Term 1828 - This Deed of Gift from William Perry to Sarah Perry his daughter for ninety seven acres of land was duly proved in open court by the oaths of John P. Hogan & John Riely subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be registered.
