THIS INDENTURE made this (left blank) day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and eight between Seth Mayberry of Sumner County in the state of Tennessee of the one part and Nathaniel Parker, Edward Cage, Moses Duncan, Richard Johnston, William Kee and John Aspley, Trustees in trust for the use and purpose herein after mentioned all of the county and State afore said of the other part, Witnesseth that the sd Seth Mayberry for and in consideration of the sum of Eight Dollars and Twenty five cents to him in hand paid at and upon the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged hath given granted and sold and conveyed by these presents all the estate right title interest property claim and demand whatsoever either in ___? or equity which he the sd Seth Mayberry hath in to or upon all -& singular a certain lot or piece of ground situated lying and being in the county of Sumner and State afore said being part of a track of land whereon he the sd Seth Mayberry is now living, bounded and butted as followeth to wit: Beginning on a Hickory standing twenty four poles below the mouth of rogues fork of Bledsaw Creek and (ink blotted) poles west of sd creek running  S 17 D W 13 poles to a beach thence N 73 D W 13 poles to a beach thence 17 D E 13 poles to a stake thence to the beginning containing and laid out for one acre of ground together with all and singular the houses woods ways water privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging or that shall by any means be necessary.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD unto the sd. Trustees and their successors in trust and office forever that they shall erect or cause to be erected and built thereon a house or place of Worship for the use of the members of the Methodist Episcopal Church acending to the rules and discipline which may be given upon and adopted by the members and Preachers of the Church. and their conferences in the U.S. of America and in future trust and confidence that they shall at all times forever hereafter permit such ministers and preachers belonging to sd church as shall from time to time be duly authorized by the general conference of the Ministers and Preachers of the sd Methodist Episcopal Church or by the yearly conferences and none other to preach and expound Gods Holy word therein.

And the sd. Seth Mayberry doth by these presents warrant and forever defend all and singular the before mentioned and described lot or piece of land with the appurtenances thereto belonging unto the above named Trustees and their successors chosen and appointed from the claim or claims of him the sd Seth Mayberry, his heirs and assigns and from the claim or claims of all persons whatso ever.

In testimony whereof the sd Seth Mayberry hath herein so set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written.
