For and in consideration of one thousand (1,000.00) dollars paid, to us cash in hand the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged we J. M. Smart, Nina A. Smart, C. A. Belcher and Sallie Belcher have bargained sold, and by these presents do transfer and convey unto the said C. O. Belcher and wife Julia Belcher their heirs and assigns, a certain tract of land in the 6th district of Wilson County state of Tennessee, as follows:  Beginning at Belcher and Tomlinson corner running South to public road corner rock in road then line runs with road to another corner rock then East to corner rock in Ramseys line then North to Tomlinson (words faded) then West back to beginning.  This being the part of my Fathers farm that he willed to me being a part of the G. L. Belcher Farm and containing by estimation 35 acres more or less, to have and to hold the said tract of land with the appurtenances, estate, title and interest thereto belonging to the said C. O. Belcher & wife Julia Belcher an their heirs and assigns forever and we do covenant with the said C. O. Belcher that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said land in fee-simple, have a good right to convey it and the same is unincumbered, and we do further covenant and bind ourselves our heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land to the said C. O. Belcher & wife Julia Belcher their heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whensoever.  Witness our hand this 20th day of December 1917.

Personally appeared before me, D. V. Wilson a notary public in and for said county and state, the within named bargainor J. M. Smart & wife Nina Smart and C. A. Belcher & wife Sallie Belcher with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged that they executed the foregoing instrument for the purposes therein contained, and Nina Smart & Sallie Belcher wives of the said J. M. Smart & C. A. Belcher acknowledged the execution of the said deed to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from her husband, and for the purposes therein expressed.  Witness my hand and official seal on this the 20th day of December 1917.
