For and in consideration of Fifteen Hundred Dollars, paid and to be paid
by I. G. Webster, as follows: $1,000.00 in cash, the receipt whereof
is hereby acknowledged, and $500.00 by two notes made by I. G. Webster with
note and as follows: Said notes for $250.00 each bear even date of
this deed and due one and two years from date respectively, with interest
at 6% per annum from date and said notes made payable to Nina Smart, to secure
and make certain the payment of which notes or deferred payments a lien is
hereby pressly reserved and retained on the lands hereinafter described and
hereby conveyed, until the whole principal and interest is paid. We
J. M. Smart and Wife Nina Smart. Austin Crafton and Wife Bulah Crafton,
M. L. Johnson and wife Lela Johnson and J. L. Smart and Wife Nora (Nona)
Smart have bargained and sold, and do hereby transfer and convey unto I.
G. Webster, the following described land, in Wilson County, State of Tennessee:
Situated in the 6th Civil District of said County and State, and described
as follows: Beginning at the corner in public road known as Claude
Belcher corner, running South east with the road to a rock at the corner
of the garden, thence South to another rock at corner of garden, thence East
to another rock, Thence North to the public road, thence South with the road
to Ramsey's and Belchers corner, thence East to a corner in Ramsey's line:
thence North to Claude Belchers corner in Ramsey's line: Thence
West to the beginning. Being a part of the G. L. Belchers farm and
containing 35 acres more or less, and being the same property conveyed to
J. M. Smart and Wife Nina Smart by C. A. Belcher and Wife Sallie Belcher
and C. A. Belcher and wife Julia Belcher in deed of Dec. 20th 1917 and of
Record Register office of Wilson County tenn. Book # (blank) Page (blank)
To have and to hold the said lands with the improvements and appurtenances
thereunto belonging, to the said I. G. Webster, his heirs and assigns forever.
And we covenant with the said I. G. Webster that we are lawfully seized
of said land, have a good right to convey it, and that it is unincumbered,
and we do further covenant and bind ourselves our heirs and representatives
to warrant and forever defend the title to said property to the said I. G.
Webster, his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all
persons.

Personally appeared before me, W. E. Austin a Notary Public in and for said
County and state, the within named Austin Crafton & wife Bulah Crafton
M. L. Johnson & wife Lela Johnson and J. L. Smart and wife Nona Smart
the bargainors with whom I am personally acquainted, and who acknowledged
that they executed the within deed for the purposes therein contained,
and Beulah Crafton Lela Johnson & Nona Smart wifes of the said Austin
Crafton M. L. Johnson & J. L. Smart having appeared before me, privately
and apart from their husbands, the said Beulah Crafton Lela Johnson &
Nona Smart acknowledged the execution of said deed to have ben done by them
freely, voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint
from their said husbands and for the purposes therein expressed. Witness
my hand and official seal at Portland, Tennessee, this 25th day of July
1918.

County and State the within named J. M. Smart and wife Nina Smart the bargainors
with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed
the within instrument for the purposes therein contained and Nina Smart wife
of the said J. M. Smart having appeared before me privately and apart from
her husband, the said Nina Smart acknowledged the execution of the said
instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly,
without compulsion or constraint from her husband, and for the purposes therein
expressed.
