Wm. Swafford & Wife To S. E. Radford - Deed - 15 Acres

We, William Swafford and wife Julian Swafford, for the consideration of seventy dollars to us paid in cash the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, do hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said S. E. Radford all that piece or parcel of land that we bought of John and D. G. Crudup lying and being in the 25th District of Wilson County, State of Tennessee, and bounded as follows: Beginning at A. M. Earhart's line; thence North with the said Earhart's line to Mrs. Baker's line; thence East with Baker's line to Earhart's North East corner; thence South with the said Earhart's line to the beginning, containing 15 acres, be the same more or less. To have and to hold unto the said S. E. Radford, his heirs and assigns forever. We covenant with the said S. E. Radford, that we are lawfully seized and possessed of said land and have a good right to convey the same and we hereby agree to warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever. Swafford, privately and apart from her husband, relative to her free execution of the annexed instrument and the same is taken to certify under your hand and seal. Mrs. Julia A. Swafford, wife of William Swafford, having personally appeared before me, and having by virtue of the authority in me vested, been examined privately and apart from her husband and she having acknowledged the due execution of the annexed instrument by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or restraint by her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed, the same is therefore certified. Witness my hand and seal this 15th day of February 1888. W. H. Carver, J. P. for Wilson County

State of Tennessee - County of Wilson - Personally appeared before me B. T. Gleaves, a Notary Public in and for said county, W. H. Carver, J. L. Ahart, subscribing witnesses to the within instrument, who being first sworn, deposed and said that he acknowledged the same in their presence to be his act and deed upon the day it bears date.
