The State of Tennessee No 2636 - To all to whom these presents shall come greeting; Know ye that in consideration of the Military Service performed by Johnston Ross to the State of North Carolina Warrant No 5169 dated the 9th day of December 1797 and entered on the 12th day of August 1808 by __24 as an occupant Claim under the law of 1807 here is granted by the said State of Tennessee unto William Gwin assignee of the said Johnston Ross's heirs? a certain tract or parcel of land containing three hundred acres, part of said warrant, lying in Sumner County in the first district on Drapers branch one of the branches of Bledsoe Creek beginning at __ double sugar tree and hickory on a north hill side __ some rock and in John Lonhes? east boundary line thence east with the north boundary line of the tract of land on which Thomas McGuire now lives ___ssing his north east corner at two hundred and ____ eight poles in all two hundred and fifty eight poles ___ four dogwood saplings and hickory in Grants west boundary line, thence north with said line one hundred and eighty six poles to two dogwoods and white oak in his line, thence west two hundred and fifty eight poles ____ two hickories and two sugar trees, thence south one hundred and eighty six poles to Beginning. - Surveyed the 21st day of May 1808 by James Blackemore D.S. with the here adamants and appurtenances to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said William Gwin and his heirs forever. In witness where of Willie Blount, Governor of the State of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand and caused the Great Seal of the State to be affixed at Knoxville on the twenty fourth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten and of the Independence of the United States the thirty fifth. by the Governor, Willie Blount.
