J. M. Walker & Others To Wyley B. Douglass - Ratify & Confirm the Will of Wm. W. Douglass, dec'd
Whereas, Wm. W, Douglass by last Will and Testament,
probated at the January Term 1903 of the County Court of Sumner County, Tenn.
willed to his son Wilie B. Douglass, the home place, where he is now living
(and the use of a peach orchard for 5 years, set out by said Wilie B. Douglass)
but in said will said land willed, being not fully set out by proper bounds
and whereas we the heirs and legatees of said Wm. W. Douglass, under said
will fully understanding the intent of said will, and in order to cure any
defect in said will and being fully satisfied with said will for in consideration
of the foregoing premises, do hereby sell transfer, convey , & make over
to said Wilie B. Douglass his heirs and assigns forever, all interest we
have or might have or might hereafter have as heirs of Wm. W. Douglass, dec'd,
in as full and perfect a manner as is possible for us to do, in and to the
following described tract of land situated and being in Civil District No.
8, Sumner County, Tenn., and bounded as follows: North by Honeycutt, Stone
et all, South by Dr. R. Nuckolls and E. Harris, East by Dempsey & West
by Station Camp Creek, and containing 122 acres more or less. To have and
to hold said land to said Wilie B. Douglass his heirs and assigns against
the lawful claims of all persons claiming through by under us. And we will
and do warrant and defend the title to said land to said Wilie B. Douglass
his heirs and assigns against the claims of any persons claiming through,
by, or under us. This deed made to ratify and confirm the will of Wm. W.
Douglass, dec'd, and to make perfect the title of said Wilie B. Douglass
to the land conveyed to him by said will as hereinbefore set out, we having
received under will, each a legacy or portion of said estate, satisfactory
to each of us. Witness our hands 9th day of March 1903.

State of Tennessee, Sumner County - Personally appeared before G. W. Mitchell a Notary Public in and for said County the within named bargainers, J. M. Walker & wife Jane Walker, Sue Nuckolls, W. H. Worsham & wife Eliza Worsham, with whom I am personally acquainted, and acknowledged that they executed the within written instrument for the purposes therein contained. And Jane Walker & Eliza Worsham & Sue Nuckolls wives of the said J. M. Walker, W. H. Worsham & R. Nuckolls having personally appeared before me privately and apart from their husbands the said Jane Walker, Eliza Worsham & Sue Nuckolls acknowledged the execution of the said Deed to have been done by them freely, voluntarily and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint from their said husbands, and for the purposes therein expressed.
