Agreeable to an order of sale to me directed, from the worshipful County Court of Sumner County, I will expose to public sale, at the court-house in Gallatin, on Saturday the 29th day of January, 33 acres of land, the property of George WRIGHT, which at the November term of the County Court last, was condemned and ordered to be sold to satisfy judgement recovered by David GREER, against George and Reubin WRIGHT before a Justice of the peace _ 5 o'clock by me. Died - On Tuesday the 17th inst. Mrs. Thena MCCALL, consort of Capt. Wm. MCCALL of this county.

NOTICE
Those indebted to the estate of Joseph M. BULLUS, are informed that all notes and accounts that remain unpaid, on the first day of October, will be placed in the hands of an officer for collection. ONE CENT REWARD
Ranaway from the subscriber in January last, an apprentice boy named Nelson TALLEY, 17 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, had on when went away, a blue janes coat and pantaloons, and a black roram hat nearly new. All persons are cautioned against trading with or harboring said apprentice. The above reward will be paid for his apprehension, but no thanks for bringing him back. Robert STEWART - Sept. 3, 1827.

SHERIFFS SALE


Will be sold, for cash, at the courthouse in Gallatin on the Saturday before the second Monday in May next, the following tracts of land.

Also, all the right, title, interest, that Joseph MASON has to that part of a tract of land formerly owned by Wm. DURHAM, dec'd lying on the waters of the Middle fork of Drakes Creek of Barren River, sold by virtue of an order of sale at the instance of James RIPPY.

SHERIFFS SALE (Gallatin Journal)
Will be sold, for cash, at the court-house, in Gallatin, on the Saturday before the second Monday in May next, the following tracts of LAND; viz:

All the right, title, claim and interest, that the heirs of Henry R. BLEDSOE, dec'd, have in and to the tract of Land, that Nancy BLEDSOE now lives on, be the same more or less; by virtue of a venditional expohus, at the instance of Jacob GILLESPIE.

Also, all the right, title, claim and interest, that Moses PILE has to sixty-five acres of land, whereon Lucy VAUGHAN lately lived, or now lives, adjoining Stephen MONTGOMERY, on the head waters of Goose Creek; sold by order of sale, at the instance of PHELPS & DUFFY.

Also, all the right, title, claim and interest, that Polly THOMAS has to one hundred and thirty acres of land, be the same more or less, lying in WALTONS or BRADLEY'S Bend; sold by order of sale, at the instance of George DOUGLASS.

Also, all the right, title claim and interest, that Edmund WILLIAMS to twenty-two acres of land, lying on the Ridge; at the head of Goose Creek; taken by virtue of an execution at the instance of Elizabeth WIX.

Also, all the right, title, claim and interest, that Samuel GWIN has to his undivided interest in eighty-four acres of land, whereon he now lives. Including Mills and Distillery, lying on the Barren Fork of Drake's Creek; sold by virtue of two executions at the instance of _ GUION.

Also, all the right, title, claim and interest, that John P. HOGAN has in and to one hundred and eighty seven acres of land, on the waters of Madison's Creek, whereon said HOGAN now lives; taken by virtue of an execution at the instance of WALTON & CONNELL.

Also, all the right, title, claim and interest, that the heirs of Henry R. BLEDSOE, dec'd , have in a to a tract of land, lying on the waters of Bledsoe's Creek and the dry fork of Bledsoe's Creek, whereon Nancy BLEDSOE, widow of the said deceased, now lives, be the same more or less; also the tract of land whereon Robert WEATHERED and others, now live; containing 640 acres, be the same more or less, which have been or now are in suit between James DOUGLASS , & BLEDSOE'S heirs, lying between 1 and 2 miles south of the East Fork of Bledsoe's Creek; also a brick house and Lot in the town of Cairo, on main street, on the North West corner, which is now occupied by Alfred MCDANIEL, as a Store House; all of which tracts of land & C. will be sold by virtue of an execution that James ROBB obtained against the heirs of the said Henry R. BLESOE, dec'd. Charles MORGAN, Sheriff.

LAND FOR SALE
I will expose to public sale, for cash, at the Court House in the town of Gallatin, on Saturday the 9th of August next, Two hundred and sixty acres of land lying on the West forks of Station Camp Creek, one and a half miles above the late residence of Dr. B. RAWLINGS, where Michael LOONEY formerly lived. Persons wishing to purchase, will do well to call and examine the premises. Peter LOONEY. June 12, 1828

NOTICE
By virtue of eight orders of sale, to me directed from the county court of Sumner, I will sell for cash, at the Court House in Gallatin, on the Saturday before the second Monday in August next, all the right, title claim and interest, that Richard H. CARY has to eighty-seven and an half acres of land, be the same more or less, lying on Rocky creek of Cumberland River, whereon said CARY -now lives- at the instance of John BANKS.

Also, at the same time and place, I will sell all the right, title claim and interest, that William R. RIGHT has to forty-five acres of land, adjoining the lands of Edward SANDERS son and others, to satisfy five orders of sale, at the instance of John PATTERSON and others.

Also, all the right, title claim and interest, that John PITTS has to 174 acres of land, adjoining GOOLBY, THURMOND & others, whereon said PITTS now lives; at the instance of Jeremiah DWYER & John MCNEEL.

Also, all the right that Edward WILLIAMS has to 380 acres of land, whereon he now lives adjoining James DEFRIEESE and others; sold at the instance of Jeremiah DWYER and James HOUSE.

Also, at the same time and place, I will sell all the right, title, claim and interest, that Elijah RUTLEDGE has to ninety acres of land, on Cumberland River, whereon said RUTLEDGE now lives; at the instance of Wm. CAGE & Co.

Also, at the same time and place, I will sell all the right, title, claim and interest, that Abner IRWIN has to 50 acres of land, whereon said IRWIN now lives; at the instance of John SANDERS.

Also, at the same time and place, I will sell all the right, title, claim and interest, that William DICKASON has to a tract of land, be the same more or less, lying on the waters of Espy's creek, part of the lands formerly owned by James ESPY taken by virtue of an execution at the instance of James BLACKMORE.

Died Mills _ Point (Ky) on the 25th _ after 12 hours illness, Mrs. Susan MCDANIEL, wife of Fountain L. MCDANIEL, and daughter of Alexander GRAHAM of this county.

In this place, on Wednesday last, 18th _, by the Rev. J. W. HALL, Mr Thomas WALSH to Miss Lucy MARTIN.
The dear little MARTIN that warbled so sweet was caught by a Walsh as she waded the street-In wandering about, he caught her atlast, and Thomas was tied to the MARTIN in haste.

Broke jail on the night of the 28th of April last two men, one by the name of John BEARD, about 20 years old, weighs about 130, a gun or blacksmith by trade, black hair and eyes. The other by the name of John TURNER, 22 years old, weighs about 160, black hair and blue eyes, and high forehead. All those having claims against the estate of James MCKENT. Dec'd (as said estate is insolvent) are hereby notified to file them with the Clerk of the County Court of Sumner County, authenticated as the law directs, on or before the 1st day of September, in order that distribution pro rata may be made among his creditors, as prescribed by law, or they will be forever barred. STATE OF TENNESSEE
Rules at the office of the Clerk and Master of the Chancery Court, for the 14th Chancery District, at Gallatin, on the Last Monday in May, 1838. William RIDER, Adms. of John RIDER , for the use of Geo. MORRIS vs. Nathan ATCHISON and his wife Lucretia, John HOBDY and Luke BERNARD, Executors of Elisha BERNARD. Upon affidavit of Jo. C. GUILD, counsel for Complainant, It appearing to the satisfaction of the Clerk and Master that Defendants Nathan ATCHISON and his wife Lucretia, are non residents of the State of Tennessee, but are citizens of another State. It is therefore ordered by the Master and entered on the rules, that publication be made in the Gallatin Union, a paper published in the town of Gallatin, for three weeks successively, requiring said Defts. To appear at the next term of this court, to be holden on the second Monday in October next, and there plead, answer or demur to Complainants bill, or the same will be taken for confessed against them and set for hearing exparte. Test: W. M. BLACKMORE, Clerk and Master. The Bill charges that Nathan ATCHINSON, on the 5th day of April, 1820, executed his Bond to John RIDER, dec'd, in the penal sum of $200, conditioned to convey a tract of land therein specified. It further charges the said ATCHINSON had no title to the said land and never complied with his said bond, and that the same is in full force against said ATCHINSON. It charges that the said Rider purchased said land and paid the said Atchison $100 for the use of George MORRIS, the said MORRIS advancing the money. The bill further charges that Elisha BERNARD in the year 1836 departed this life and by his will he devised to Lucretia the wife of the said Nathan ATCHISON the one fifth of his personal estate which the said Nathan is entitled to in the right of his wife, that said interest will amount to between $2 and 300. It further charges that John HOBDY and Luke BERNARD qualified as the executors of the said Elisha the estate is settled up and that the said Nathan is entitled to the said sum of 2 or $300, which the Compt. pray may be decreed to him in satisfaction of the said bond executed as aforesaid and for general relief W. M. B., C. & M.

STATE OF TENNESSEE

Upon affidavit of Jo. C. GUILD, counsel for complainant. It appearing to the satisfaction of the Clerk and Master, that the defendant, Bailey BAYLES, is not an inhabitant of this State. It is therefore ordered by the Master and entered on the rules, that publication be made in the Gallatin Union a paper published in the town of Gallatin, for three weeks successively, requiring said Deft. BAYLES, to appear at the next term of this court to be holdon on the second Monday in October next, and there plead, answer on demur to complainants Bill, or the same will be taken for confessed against him and set for hearing exparte. Test: W .M. BLACKMORE, Clerk and Master. The Bill charges amongest other things that complainant purchased on the 30th August, 1836 of Deft. BAYLES, a tract of land, lying in the County of Sumner, containing 100 acres, for which he agreed to give Deft. $150.00 and executed his three notes, two for $60 each, and one for $30; the first due the 25th December, 1837, and the other due in one and two years thereafter, and said BAYLES executed to Court, his bond for a title. The Bill further charges that said BAYLES has nor never had any title whatever to said land or any part of the same. That he has transferred or assigned the 1st note for $60 since it fell due to his co. Deft. Artemus TUFFTS, who has obtained a judgement against Complt. The Bill further charges that Deft. BAYLES , knew at the time he sold to Complainant the land that he had no title to the same. The Bill prays that Deft. TUFFTS be enjoined from collecting his said judgment, and that Deft. BAYLES be enjoined from trading off the other two notes, and that they be delivered up and cansc'ed, unless complainant can get a good title to the land, and for general relief. W. M. BLACKMORE.
