Winnie Crafton Dies
August 14, 1963
Greenwood - Following a three weeks' illness, Mrs. Winnie Beulah Crafton, wife of Millard (Austin) Crafton, died in the St. Francis Hospital at Beech Grove Wednesday night at 6 o'clock.

The body is being taken from the Burkhart Funeral Home to the Wilkinson-Wiseman Funeral Home at Portland, Tenn., where services will be conducted Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.

The Rev. R. D. Patton, pastor of the First Baptist Church there, will b in charge of the services with burial taking place in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home any time after 2 o'clock Friday afternoon and until time for the services, to which they are invited.

Born in 1889
The daughter of the late James Marion and Nina Adella Belcher Smart, Mrs. Crafton was born Jan. 1, 1889, at Portland.  Twenty-eight years ago the family came to Indianapolis and eight years ago moved to their present home in the Mt. Pleasant community at Smith Valley.  Mrs. Crafton was a member of the Smith Valley Baptist church.

The survivors with the husband are two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Nina) King, of Nashville, Tenn.; Mrs. I. M. (Estelle) Whitaker, of Greenwood; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  Also remaining are two sisters, Mrs. M. L. Johnson, Mrs. Spencer Stinson; and a brother, Lillard Smart all of Portland.
