Ishmael Faullin, Portland Killed in Pacific

Portland, Tenn., Sept 15

PFC Ishmael Faullin 20, with the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific area, was killed in action in that theater. No date or place was given in the message received here yesterday by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Faullin. The parents received a letter from Private Faullin July 15 stating that he had participated in the Battle of Saipan. They had received no further word from him. Private Faullin enlisted in the Marine Corps June 13 , 1941. He received his training at Parris Island, S.C. and Quantico, Va. He attended Sumner County High School here and had been overseas 20 months.

In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters.
