The death of Mrs. Amanda Brown Harris, widow of the late John B. Harris, occurred at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Luther Dorris, in Nashville. The remains were brought to Gallatin Friday morning and funeral services were held from the home of her brother, C. B. Brown, on Franklin Street at 1 o'clock Friday afternoon, conducted by Elder T. B. Clark of the Christian Church. Burial was in the family burying ground at the W. G. Stewart place on the Scottsville Pike. The deceased was seventy eight years of age and was before her marriage Miss Amanda Brown, member of an old and prominent family of the county. She was a member of the Christian church and was a faithful Christian character, living an exemplary life. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Luther Dorris, Mrs. W. E. Dorris, and Tyree B. Harris, all of Nashville, and Miss Ovie Harris of Gallatin. One brother, C. B. Brown of Gallatin also survives. Her husband preceded her to the grave about fifteen months ago.
