JOHN L. HILL

John Lewis Hill, a former resident of this county, passed away suddenly at his home in New York City, February 17, 1936. His death resulted from a heart attack.

Mr. Hill, born April 16, 1872, was a son of the late Robert G. Hill and Sophia Reddick Hill, of this county, and a brother of the late J. W. Hill. He received his education in the schools of this county and graduated from the Theological School of Cumberland Presbyterian College in Princeton, KY in 1895.

He was later a member of the Church of Christ and spent a number of years of his life preaching in the South and recently in New York City. He also devoted time to writing and lecturing.

He is survived by his second wife Mrs. Margaret Hill of New York and by two sons, Robert D. Hill of West Palm Beach, Florida and Hugh B. Hill of Nashville.

The remains reached Gallatin Saturday afternoon and burial followed at the Gallatin Cemetery with services conducted by Elder H. L. Olmstead.
