Miss Elinor Douglass Hughes, aged 21 years, died last Wednesday evening at the home of her father, J. K. Hughes near Sulphura. Her death resulted from typhoid fever from which she had suffered a lingering illness. She leaves many friends to mourn her loss. Besides her father, she is survived by a sister and two brothers. The deceased was for many years cashier for Crone & Jackson of Nashville. The remains were interred at Sulphura Burying Ground.
