Death of J. W. Peden.
The death of Mr. J. W. Peden, father of Dr. E. F. Peden, came as a shock to his many friend in Portland and throughout the county, which occurred at his home Saturday night, April 22, 1921. Mr. Peden had retired early and was found dead in his bed soon after having passed away without a struggle. He was apparently in the best of health up to the time of his death. Mr. Peden was born and raised in the home where he died, born Sept. 17, 1638 *(This is the date typed on obit article.), died April 24, 1921. He was a consistent member of the Methodist Church and a most popular and beloved man by all that knew him. He was laid to rest at Round Pond Cemetery Monday, the funeral services was most impressive and was conducted by Bro. Ray of Portland.
