MRS. RUTH PARKS BURIED AT HOPEWELL

Mrs. Ruth Ann Parks, 78, died Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Floyd Hall in the New Deal community near Portland after a short illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant General Baptist church in Sumner County. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery in Robertson County. Mrs. Parks was born in Smith County, but had lived in the New Deal community for six years. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist church. She was the widow of Joe Parks and the daughter of John and Melissa Linville. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Taylor Austin and Mrs. N. W. Carlisle, both of Springfield, and Mrs. Floyd Hall and Mrs. Claude Hall, both of the New Deal community; three sons, Wesley Parks, Beech Grove, Indiana, Lonnie Parks, Portland and Jodie Parks, Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Carroll Honeycut, New Deal community and Mrs. Willie Conquest, Nashville; one brother, Ewing Conquest, Bowling Green, Ky; 47 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
