Joseph Short
Portland, Tennessee July 15, 1935
Funeral services for Joseph Short, 75, who died at his home Monday night, were held at the First Baptist Church at 4 o'clock this afternoon conducted by the Rev. B. Frank Collins.  Burial was in the Portland cemetery.  Mr. Short had been in failing health for over a year.  He is survived by his wife; a son Claude W. Short; a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Crafton and a sister, Mrs. America Johnson, all of Portland.

Leroy Short
Portland, Tennessee December 23, 1982
Age 67, Thursday evening December 23, 1982 at St. Thomas Hospital, Survived by wife, Mrs. Kathleen Groves Short, Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Norma Jean) White, Orlando, FL, Mrs. Wayne (Emma Lee) Lambert, Portland; one son, Ellis Gale Short, Bucyrus, Oh; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Eaden, Portland, Miss Edith Short, Gallatin, Mrs. Lola Broadway, Donelson, three brothers, Lloyd Short and Thomas Short, both of Portland, Jack Short, Franklin, Ky. seven grandchildren.  Remains are at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home where services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday December 26, 1982 with Bro. Neil Dobson and Bro. Clayton Hall officiating.  Interment Maple Hill Cemetery.

Glen Short
Glen M. Short, 94, of Portland died Friday, May 13, 1988 at Highland Hospital following an extended illness.  The funeral was Sunday, May 15, at 1 pm at Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home, conducted by James Harris and C. L. Powell.  Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.  She was retired from South Central Bell Telephone.  Born August 29, 1893, she was the daughter of Richard McGlothlin and Delia Hatler.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.  She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Dorris, Gallatin; and a son, John Richard Short, Portland; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Robert W. "Jack" Short
Franklin, Ky.
Age 64
Tuesday, February 14, 1984 at his home.  Survived by wife, Marilyn Bjorklund Short of Franklin, Ky; one son, David Short of Nashville, three sisters, Edith Short of Gallatin, Lola Broadway, of Donelson, Louise Eden of Portland; two brothers, Lloyd and Thomas Short, both of Portland.  Remains are at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home, Portland where visitation with the family will be Thursday, Feb. 16, from 3 - 5 pm and 7 - 9 pm.  Mr. Short was retired from Thompson & Green Machinery Co., a Mason and a Shriner with the Al Menah Temple.  Graveside services Friday morning, Feb. 17 at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Ethel Short Crafton
Wednesday, February 8, 1984.  Survived by two daughters, Marjorie Crafton, Woodboro, Ky, Ruth Legg, Portland; two sons, Eugene Crafton, Fred Crafton, both of Portland; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.  Remains are at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home where services will be conducted 1 pm, Thursday, February 9, 1984 by Rev. Richard Patton. Interment Maple Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Naomi Short
Mrs. Naomi Short, 80, died yesterday in Sumner County Memorial Hospital, March 1, 1977.  Services will be at 2:;30 pm today at Wilkinson and Wiseman Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Simpson County, Ky.  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Jones, Portland; two sisters, Mrs. Guy Coker, Fla., and Mrs. Rayburn Harris, Franiklin, Ky.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Cleon Short
Services for Cleon Short, 91, a retired farmer of Portland were Sunday at Wilkinson Wiseman Funeral Home at 3 pm and conducted by the Reb. Gerald Noffsinger and Larry Hinkle.  Burial was in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Mr. Short died Saturday in Highland Hospital following an extended illness.  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Beuna Short, one son, Wilford Short, and three grandchildren, all of Portland.

Beuna Short

Mrs. Beuna Short, 86, Shannon Ave., Portland, died Monday, Jan. 31 at Highland Hospital following an extended illness.  Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.  A housewife, widow of Cleon (Preacher) Short, she was born June 15, 1897, daughter of Edward and Leona Griffin Link.  She was a member of McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church.  Survivors include a son, Wilford Short, Portland; a sister, Geneva Warren, Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Monty Short, Tony Short and Leanne Short, all of Portland, and two great-grandchildren.  Pallbearers include Randy Legge, Bobby Legge, Wilson Prater, Horace Smart, Manford Lamberth, Lewis Link, Ray Link, and James Link.

Mrs. Willie Burns Short
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m. at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Kentucky for Mrs. Willie Burns Short.  Mrs. Short died Saturday, December 1, 1973.  Survivors include one son, Cindy Short.  She was the widow of the late Arlin Short.

Annie Short
The funeral of Annie Laurie Short, 76, of Highland Rim Terrace, Portland, will be Thursday, October 29 at 10 a.m. at McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church, with Bro. Ed. McClellan and the Rev. John Casey officiating.  Burial will be in the Cross Plains cemetery.  She will lie in state at the church on Thursday, between 9 and 10 a.m.  She died Tuesday, October 27, 1987, at Highland Hospital.  A native of Robertson County, she was born Dec. 13, 1909, daughter of Moore and Joetta Payne Stringer.  She was the widow of Harvell Short, and a member of the McKendree United Methodists Church and Circle III.  Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Stone, Franklin, Ky., and Mrs. Patricia Minor, Lewisburg; two sons, Ray Short, Gallatin, and Gil Short, Madison; and nine grandchildren.
