Funeral services for Thomas S. (Bud) Wright, 76, retired tobacco dealer and merchant of this section, was held Friday afternoon, August 2, 1940, at 3 o'clock at his home in West Portland, with the Rev. R. Lofton Hudson in charge. Burial followed in Maple Hill Cemetery. Mr. Wright died at his home here after a long illness from heart disease, at 4:15 o'clock Thursday morning, He was born and reared in Sumner County, and son of Dave and Elizabeth Wright. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nora Armstrong Wright; two brothers, Frank Wright of Nashville, and George Wright of Franklin, Ky.
