Charles Thomas Durham was born 05 August 1859 in Sumner Co., TN. He was the son of James Granville and Malvina F. "Mallie" Meador Durham. He married Willie Jane Cartwright 08 March 1882 in Bethpage, TN. Willie was born in Illinois 01 January 1864. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in March, 1942 at their home in Dallas, Texas.
Charles and Willie with their two children, Annie Dell and Thomas G. Durham came from Sumner Co. TN to Texas in 1894. They settled in the little town of Milford in Ellis County where the Wrays and Rutledge families lived. Charles Durham is enumerated on the 1900, 1910 and 1920 census of Ellis County, town of Milford.
About 1925 to 1930, Charles and Willie moved to Dallas, Texas. Dallas is 50 miles north of Milford. They lived in Dallas the rest of their lives. Willie Jane (Cartwright) Durham died in Dallas, Texas on the 28th of October 1945. Charles Thomas Durham died in Dallas, Texas 05 January 1947. She was 81, he was 87.
Their daughter, Annie Dell Durham, was born 15 May 1888 at Bethpage, TN. She was about 6 years old when they moved to Texas. Annie Dell never married, and was a school teacher all of her adult life. Annie Dell Durham died in Dallas, Texas 10 May 1979.
Their son, Thomas G. Durham, was born 11 September 1892 in TN. He was 2 years old when the family moved to Texas in 1894. Tom graduated from medical school, became a pharmacist, lived in Dallas, and retired in 1957. He married Essie Louise Douglas (date and place unknown) they had one child, Mary Frances Durham. Thomas G. Durham died in Dallas, Texas 02 July 1971. Essie Louise (Douglas) Durham died in Shreveport, LA 25 July 1992.
Charles and Willie Durham, Thomas G. and Essie Durham, and Annie Dell Durham are buried in a plot at Restland Cemetery in Dallas. It's one of the largest cemeteries in Dallas.
