Dear Brother an Sister

I will try to write you a few lines after having neglected you so long.  This leaves us all well, we arrived home from Cal. the 8th of May and found all well and had a pleasant trip of 4 days and 3 nights.  There was no trouble on the way except 12 miles this side of Leadville one of the axles of our  wagin broke which delayed us 3 hours but we made that up by the time we got to Omaha came into Des Moines on time and sayed there 2 nights and one day with Samantha's youngest sister and then came on home which is 34 miles this side Des Moines.  Well our trip helped Samantha a great deal her health is much better since we returned and we saw enough to pay us for the trip and had a splendid visit with Sallie Perkins the girl we rais.  She is with? O. H. Haines now and She seems just like our own daughter.  We also had a weeks visit with Jasper which was very pleasant.  We had not seen each other for 22 years and I tell you we parted in our time, pretty happy while we was together.  We saw nearly all of San Francisco & Oakland in that time and met some of Jaspers old acquaintances.  I had a letter from Jasper in Dec. he was well and doing
