Bartholomew W. STOVALL was born on 23 Aug 1759 in Bedford Co., VA. He died on 9 Mar 1841 in Sumner Co., TN.
"The Wolf Hill community in the extreme eastern part of the county was developed around a land grant taken up in the late eighteenth century by Bartholomew STOVALL, a Welsh immigrant. Settlement at Buffalo, located at the head of Bledsoe Creek near the present Macon County line, was begun a short while later. He married Elizabeth Tatum (Betsy) RICKMAN (daughter of Marcus "Mark" RICKMAN and Mary HARPER). She was born on 28 Nov 1791 in NC. She died on 31 Aug 1881. She was buried in Willow Grove Cemetery, Trousdale Co., TN.
6. Patsy STOVALL was born on 8 Dec 1786 in VA. She died on 30 Nov 1844 in Sumner Co., TN. She was buried in Thurmond Cemetery. Patsy STOVALL and Fleming Goosberry THURMOND were married on 14 Jul 1806 in Sumner Co., TN. Fleming Goosberry THURMOND (son of John THURMOND and Sarah GOOLSBY) was born in 1785/86 in VA.
